Map vehicles consistently
Registration numbers and device identifiers can change. Define mapping keys, assignment history and time zones, including device replacement.
Show freshness
Display the last update time. Distinguish absent data, lost coverage and integration errors. Old positions must not look like live tracking; ETA needs separate assumptions.
Test failures and permissions
Test expired tokens, rate limits, delayed events and duplicates. Agree who sees locations, retention and support before creating automatic status rules.
